Opus Exhibition Poster

A$800.00

Opus Exhibition Poster which was part of the Head On Open Program 2025. The Head On Festival is the premier photography festival in Australia.

Can you read music? The changing patterns of sunbathers, on the bleachers at Newcastle Ocean Pool remind me of musical notes on a score. The swimmers are the notes, and the bleachers form the stave.

The rhythm changes throughout the day. Starting slowly, gathering momentum through the morning, rising to the crescendo around lunch time/early afternoon, and then softening into a gentle decrescendo towards the end of the day.

The pool is both a meeting place and a sanctuary. It is a focal point for community interaction, but also a space for solitude. You choose your own rhythm: to chat, sunbake, swim laps, cool down, play, meditate, read, relax or simply be. Whatever beat best suits your mood on the day. No two days are the same. The unpredictability makes for such a beautiful composition. This is my photographic Opus - a visual symphony of light, rhythm and human connection.

The poster is printed on Hahnemuhle Hemp Fine Art paper (see description below). The poster size is 100cm x 123cm. The poster is unframed. If you live in the Sydney Metropolitan Area, framing can be arranged but please email me on laura@laurareidphotography.com for a quote.

Paper type. Hemp uses one of the oldest and most diverse natural fibres in the world and is made of 60% hemp fibre. The FineArt inkjet paper’s base impresses with its bright white natural tone, and thanks to the bright white colour of the hemp fibres, no optical brighteners are required. The lightly textured surface gives the paper a pleasant, silky feel. Combined with the matt premium inkjet coating, this is a truly versatile FineArt inkjet paper. Colours and details are brilliantly reproduced, the depth of the black truly stands out and contrasts are reproduced with stunning effect. The acid- and lignin-free FineArt inkjet paper meets the most exacting requirements for age resistance. Hemp was an essential part of paper production for centuries, and due to its extremely robust fibres, it has often been used for long-lasting historical documents, such as the Gutenberg Bible and the US Declaration of Independence.
